Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.
II Chronicles 20:22-24
I remember growing up I always wanted an older brother so he could fight my battles.
I really wanted to start crazy fights with people and be like “I’ll get my brother on you” but I guess God knew that it was not the best thing for me.
Right now, with COVID-19 or maybe there is something else going on in your life, that may seem like there is nothing your own strength or your doctors or solicitors or anyone can do.
The truth is, it is okay to be helpless, it is okay to be weak and not know what to do. Sometimes people may tell you to be strong or that as a Christian you should not be upset or stressed. The good news is 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10 says God works best when we are weak when we have no strength left to fight that is when He is strong. God works best when we give Him our stress, problems, our weakness or doubts instead of trying to help ourselves or seeking self-help gurus. This passage has allowed me to let God heal me from my own moments of rock bottom and has let me know that the strength is not our own but Gods.
When you do not know what to do – one thing you can to is sing praise to Him and just give your battles (which could be debt, exams, sickness, marriage, children, church, home etc) to God. When my strength is not enough God will fight for me, because it is His fight.
Today I choose to remember that there are battles, struggles we will not overcome in our own strength because the battle is not ours in the first place but God’s. Our position is to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord with us, to sing praises. Victory shall surely come.
Thank You so much that You are there for me. Dad, thank You for letting me know that You will fight for me and save me in my battles seen and unseen.
Thank You that you the mighty God Always come right on time, help to believe in You and rejoice in Your reliable powerful saving ability.
Thank you, God, for everything. In Jesus name. Amen
